Application Process

We are not currently accepting applications for new homeowners, however, you can review the application process, and submit your email to be notified when we begin accepting applications.
 
1. Review: Review the Qualifications and determine if you meet all of them.
 
2. Application: When we are accepting applications, you will need to fill out the application and gather all required documents and submit to Habitat for Humanity (applications will be available below and in our office.
 
3. File Review: The Family Services Department will review the application, credit report, and criminal background check to determine eligibility.
 
4. Home Visit: The Family Selection Committee will contact applicants to set up a time to visit and interview families whose applications passed the file review.
 
5. Approval: If the home visit validates the need for housing, the family is approved and invited to the New Prospective Homeowner Orientation.  After the Orientation, the family may begin completing their required sweat equity hours.
 
If an applicant does not meet Habitat for Humanity of Palm Beach County criteria for homeownership, they will receive a letter with a description of the reason. Applicants can request a copy of their credit report and a Homeownership Work Plan that lists HUD approved Financial Counselors or a referral to another qualified organization. Habitat PBC encourages applicants who do not qualify to work on the reasons why, and reapply!
