I'm pleased to write this letter of support for Habitat for Humanity of Palm Beach County, one of the best run non-profits in northern Palm Beach County. As the past Treasurer and Board member of Jonathan's Landing Golf Club in Jupiter, our Club and its members have proudly sponsored 5 new Habitat homes in Jupiter to provide much needed affordable housing for hard working families. Our Club members have also worked on the home construction, which is very rewarding in itself. Dealing with Habitat on all matters was very easy and their staff is extremely professional.
We like the Habitat program because it is a "hand up - not a hand out" to the partner families, who receive counseling on homeownership, invest 500 sweat equity hours with Habitat and payback 100% of the home related costs via a Habitat interest free mortgage. The quality of these 1,200 square foot homes is excellent. I would encourage families who meet the Habitat affordable housing criteria to strongly consider a Habitat home for their family.
The members of Jonathan's Landing are very proud of our excellent relationship with Habitat for Humanity of PBC and what they have accomplished by creating over 100 new homes that hard working families can actually afford. Congratulations on their 25th anniversary here in Palm Beach County.
