Volunteer Coordinator

 

Purpose: This position is responsible for all facets of the Volunteer Department including the supervision of the Community Service/Volunteer Associate.

 

Report to: Executive Director

• Respond to inquiries via phone, email and in-person regarding all volunteer questions.
• Assist individual volunteers with the registration process.
• Coordinate all aspects of volunteer groups.
• Maintain files and documentation of all volunteers.
• Maintain communication with all staff and understand their volunteer needs for the stores, construction sites, office, and misc. projects.
• Provide on-site assistance to volunteers and staff when necessary.
• Initiate the recruitment of new volunteers and groups.
• Represent Habitat at community fairs, churches, miscellaneous presentations, etc.
• Complete monthly board reports.

Preferred Job Requirements:

This is a full-time, salary position requiring a minimum of 40 hours a week.

Experience:

• Possess a bachelor’s degree in a human services field.
• Posses a minimum of 2 years prior experience working with volunteers.
• Prior experience working in the not-for-profit sector.

Fund Development Director

 

Report to: Executive Director

Description:

Habitat for Humanity of Palm Beach County is currently recruiting for a talented, seasoned fundraising professional with proven expertise in fund development and donor relations.  This position will be responsible for developing and implementing fundraising strategies that continuously improve the organization’s donor support and community involvement. The qualified candidate will oversee all internal and external fundraising/development initiatives and have a successful track record of developing and administering fundraising/development programs. We are seeking an accomplished professional who possesses the necessary knowledge, skills and abilities to significantly increase philanthropic contributions through traditional and creative new approaches.

The ideal candidate should have 8-10 years of fund development experience, a relevant degree, exceptional interpersonal and relationship building skills and be able to demonstrate mission-based fundraising. A commitment to Habitat for Humanity’s mission and demonstrated expertise in motivating others in fundraising activities are required. Significant experience in the identification, cultivation, solicitation, and stewardship of philanthropic support is required.  CFRE preferred.

ReStore Manager

 

Purpose: The ReStore Manager is responsible for the daily management of the ReStore and representing Habitat for Humanity of Palm Beach County, Inc., in a professional way true to our mission.

 

Reports to:  The Director of Retail Operations

Key Responsibilities

• Oversees and manages all ReStore operations including sales, donations, planning, budgeting, scheduling, safety, merchandising, customer service and business plan execution in coordination with the Retail Director, Executive Director, and the Affiliate’s public and private sector partners.

• Provides direct supervision of all paid ReStore staff and volunteers.
• Keeps the Retail Director current on all ReStore activities, plans, programs, events, sales and donation status.
• Develops and implements the ReStore’s annual budget in coordination with the Retail Director.
• Develops or assists in all ReStore marketing efforts with emphasis on “more for less” advertising and better community awareness.

• Develops, implements, and ensures strict adherence with an OSHA compliant safety program for the ReStore and store activities.
• Ensures that all ReStore operations and related retail activities comply with Affiliate policies and HFHI Covenant.
• Ensures that all Affiliate labor standards and cash handling procedures are adhered to by the ReStore.
• Works closely with all existing business partners (contractors, subcontractors, and vendors) and continuously solicits new business partners to ensure best possible pricing and quality products and service.

• Engages in fundraising and solicits in-kind donations from business partners in coordination with the Retail Director. Works to broaden contacts with local organizations to ensure a steady supply of new and high quality donations to the ReStore.
• Monitors ReStore expenditures to control costs and increase net revenue.
• Monitors ReStore staffing levels to control payroll and employee benefits costs.
• Actively work with Retail Director and Volunteer Coordinator to secure more volunteers for the ReStore and implement “volunteer orientation” at store level to increase productivity. Train and assign duties to Volunteers,
• ReStore’s staff representative to the Retail Committee. Provides advice and executes ReStore action plans.
• Develop relationships with other area ReStore managers to identify “best practices” and programs that are mutually beneficial.
• Maintain ReStore organizational charts related to store needs and productivity.
• Responsible for evaluating the performance of the paid ReStore staff on a quarterly basis.
• Implements and faithfully executes all policies, plans, and procedures adopted by the Board of Directors and directions given by the Executive Director and Retail Director.
• Performs other duties as assigned by the Retail Director.

Requirements

• Strong commitment to the Habitat for Humanity mission, principles, and guidelines.
• Bachelors Degree preferred or equivalent retail experience and training.
• A minimum of three (3) years of supervisory or managerial experience in a retail environment. 
• Proven “customer service” excellence in a retail store setting.
• Working knowledge of Microsoft Office.
• Ability to lead, teach, develop and work alongside paid staff and volunteer work force.
• Effective communication and listening skills.
• Attention to detail with strong problem solving skills.
• Ability to work with and serve a diverse demographic.
• Strong aptitude to work in a team environment and to seek partnerships in planning and plan execution.
• Represent Habitat for Humanity in the best possible light at all times.
