VOLUNTEER SERVICES INTERN

REQUIREMENTS: This is an unpaid internship and the individual must be able to work 15-20 hours per week from June-Aug. You must have your own reliable transportation and be willing to drive to different locations throughout Palm Beach County as well as work in our offices at 6758 North Military Trail, West Palm Beach, and be available some Saturday mornings.

RESPONSIBILITIES:

  • Welcoming individual volunteers and groups
  • Preparing material for groups and individuals
  • Posting on Facebook/Twitter, photos and events
  • Assist in recruiting volunteers (community fairs etc.)

MINIMUM QUALIFICATIONS:

  • Strong work ethic and positive attitude
  • Professional demeanor
  • Able to work well with various cultures and age groups
  • Organized and task oriented
  • Experienced in Microsoft Office
  • Social Media savvy
  • Cheerful personality!

SOCIAL NETWORKING/MARKETING FOR RETAIL OPERATIONS

REQUIREMENTS: This is an unpaid internship and the individual must be able to work 15-20 hours per week from June-Aug. You must have your own reliable transportation and be willing to drive to work in our offices at 6758 North Military Trail, West Palm Beach or in our ReStore located at 6831 North Military Trail, West Palm Beach.

RESPONSIBILITIES:

  • Maintain and update Habitat PBC Restore web pages
  • Maintain Facebook and Twitter accounts for Habitat for Humanity of Palm Beach County

       THIS INCLUDES:

  • Taking and Posting photos of Retail donations and/or of various Habitat PBC events

MINIMUM QUALIFICATIONS:

  • Experience in creating and updating webpages
  • Strong graphic and web design skills
  • Strong work ethic and positive attitude
  • Professional demeanor
  • Able to work well with various cultures and age groups
  • Organized and task oriented
  • Experienced in Microsoft Office
  • Social Media savvy
  • Cheerful personality!

PHOTOGRAPHY INTERN/VOLUNTEER PHOTOGRAPHER

REQUIREMENTS: This is an unpaid internship/volunteer position and the individual must be able to work 8-10 hours per week from June-Aug. You must have your own reliable transportation and be willing to travel to various Habitat for Humanity PBC sites. Occasional evenings and weekends may be required.

RESPONSIBILITIES:

  • Photograph ongoing Habitat PBC construction projects
  • Photograph volunteers in action at construction and retail sites
  • Photograph Habitat PBC events
  • Use photo software to edit, organize, and tag photos

MINIMUM QUALIFICATIONS:

  • Candidates must have their own camera, ideally DSLR
  • Strong work ethic and positive attitude
  • Professional demeanor
  • Able to work well with various cultures and age groups
  • Organized and task oriented
  • Cheerful personality!

FAMILY SERVICES INTERN

REQUIREMENTS: This is an unpaid internship and the individual must be able to work 15-20 hours per week from June-Aug. You must have your own reliable transportation and be willing to work in our offices at 6758 North Military Trail, WPB. You must also successfully pass a criminal background check.

RESPONSIBILITIES:

  • Help with securing and scheduling of speakers for Homeowner/Partner family workshops
  • Administer Food Pantry- procure, sort, and stock donations for food pantry
  • Create Homeowner/Partner Family monthly newsletter and other marketing materials as needed
  • Act as a representative for Habitat as needed; attend community meetings, collect data, etc.
  • Research new opportunities
  • Conduct other administrative  tasks as assigned

MINIMUM QUALIFICATIONS:

  • Individuals must be a high school graduate or have obtained a GED.
  • Strong work ethic and positive attitude
  • Professional demeanor
  • Able to work well with various cultures and age groups
  • Organized and task oriented
  • Experienced in Microsoft Office, particularly with Publisher
  • Exceptional telephone skills
  • Social Media savvy
  • Cheerful personality!

SUPERVISION AND WORK RELATIONSHIPS: The student intern works with the Family Services Director and Coordinator. He or she will also work alongside with all HFHPBC staff members and volunteers. The position has minimal contact with HFHPBC Homeowners and Partner Families.
